An October of Service
October was a month of service at Full Media. In addition to celebrating our Quarterly Day of Service at each of our three offices – Gainesville, Chattanooga and Greenville – our chief technology officer, Kevin West, also took the plunge over a 20-story building to raise money for local scouting programs and land conservancies in Chattanooga.
Vowing to go “over the edge” of the SunTrust building, Kevin joined local celebrities and bosses who participated in the annual “Over the Edge” fundraiser on Thursday, October 3. Through the support of family, co-workers and friends, Kevin raised almost $1,000 to be eligible for his nearly 300-foot rappel down one of the tallest buildings in Chattanooga.
Our Gainesville and Greenville teams served with local Habitat for Humanity chapters on Friday, October 18, for a day of construction on site builds – complete with painting, landscaping and maintenance. From installing attic stairs and grouting around the fireplace to repairing door frames, our teams helped add the final touches to new homes in Hall County and Greenville County.
Chattanooga team members participated in the Quarterly Day of Service on Friday, October 25. The afternoon was spent at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen helping to organize multiple pallets of food donations into boxes that will be delivered to local group homes or used for meal preparation at the kitchen. The team also took a tour of the Kitchen to learn more about it operations and programs.
Full Media is blessed for the opportunity to celebrate Quarterly Days of Service, a tradition that enables us to live out our mission of having a positive influence on those with whom we come into contact. It is our hope that through this service we can improve the communities where we live, work and play.
